Fire and Rescue Services across Southeast England officially announced Interspiro as the successful supplier in a major regional procurement initiative. Known as the "4F" collaboration, the partnership includes East Sussex, Kent, Surrey, and West Sussex Fire and Rescue Services.
The joint tender, led by West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service, resulted in a contract valued at approximately £8.37 million GBP. The primary goal of the project was to standardize breathing apparatus (SCBA) and telemetry equipment across county borders—a critical move to enhance firefighter safety during "cross-border" incidents. By utilizing a single platform, crews from all four counties can now operate with total interoperability, ensuring that equipment is consistent and reliable regardless of which service is responding.
As the designer for the Cloud solution, collecting telemetry data, my role involve making the interface intuitive and aligned with Interspiro brand values. This ongoing project is a significant exercise in technical logic; to ensure the system support the "4F" mission of regional alignment while maintaining the high-integrity performance required for frontline operations.
